I will participate in person

The event will take place in Sète (France 34200), hosted by the University of Montpellier (member of French Marine Universities Network), GéoSciences Montpellier, Ifremer and the MARBEC Research Laboratory. Sète is a port city on the Mediterranean Sea, close to Montpellier, which is home to large academic and research community.

The city centre and conference venue are 4.0 km apart (a 50’ walk). Bus line 3 runs between the train station and the venue of the conference (the bus service stops around 20:00 in November). Local taxis can be used.

Hotels or other accommodation solutions (e.g. holiday apartments) can be found either in the city centre of Sète, or near the conference venue (located in an area less populated during winter). Some suggested hotels are indicated in this document. Where indicated, negotiated rates can be obtained.

On 29 November evening, an icebreaker with all participants coming to Sète will be organised at Quai 17 in Sète. Participation is free but prior registration through is mandatory.

Conference dinner

On 30 November evening, a conference dinner and visit to Maison Noilly Prat in Marseillan will be organised. Your participation is optional, and registration is mandatory. Bus transportation to and from Marseillan (20 km from Sète), visit of the cellars and tasting of their vermouth will be organised.

I will participate online

For its first time, and after the successful online 2020 edition, the CommOCEAN conference will have an online component. Some plenary sessions will be web-streamed and on the 1st of December, as dedicated online session will be organised.
